Strategy
Our grand strategy stands on three pillars:
Grand strategy: Consciousness, Responsibility and Competence
Consciousness
Consciousness or knowledge is a critical starting point to assist people to identify their talent, understand the world they live in and determine the purpose of their lives.
Responsibility
The level of achievement or honour people attain in life is determined largely by the level of courage and positive responsibility or risk people are prepared to take.
Competence
Competence comes from deliberate learning, especially by taking responsibility, and is the most reliable method of delivering service and creating or maintaining value
Operational strategy
Our talent management champions create value with their communities by helping them to focus on the following eight strategic areas:
1. Chapter one: school attendance by children
Guideline: Any activity that we engage children in today must be based on the children being in formal school. We must assist both children and parents to understand and support this practice
2. Chapter two: organised and structured plays for kids
Guideline: Get children to know they are expected to play. Get those in authority to provide facilities and equipment as cheaply as possible. Get appropriate adults to get involved to provide supervision
3. Chapter three: extra lessons in maths, science, languages and technology
Guideline: Learners must know their success depends on their self-discipline and ability to work hard and creatively on things they need for tomorrow. We cannot achieve much by putting comfort ahead of purpose
4. Chapter four: mentorship and companionship for people with potential
Guideline: We must provide mentorship and companionship to real people and stop shouting exotic solutions from ivory towers. Many communities go through the painful experiences of watching their future stars die future stars
5. Chapter five: give leadership a chance to work and produce results
Guideline: Organisations rise or fall on the back of leadership. Leaders who show commitment to their people must be given space to work. We have too much negativity and destructive self-interest in our society
6. Chapter six: we must promote individual accountability
Guideline: The best form of leadership will not take us anywhere if there is no accountability at the individual level. Many good organisations in our society suffer because their members abuse resources and have inflated expectations
7. Chapter seven: we must co-operate to maximise opportunities
Guideline: There is a great challenge to get our scarce resources into hands capable of multiplying them. We must make the best possible use of job opportunities while exploring other ways to create value together with our people
8. Chapter eight: organise and engage in outreach activities
Guideline: We must do small things to impact on the lives of real people: visit the poor to hear how you can help, visit the sick in hospital, visit people in jail. Allow people both old and young to see and be touched by the other side of life
