There is a story about a lady who got very cross with Winston Churchill and told him that she would put poison in his tea if he were her husband. The grandmaster of oratory is said to have replied by saying he would drink the poisoned tea if she were his wife.

THISIS SIMILAR TO PEOPLE SAYING, “I WOULD HAVE DONE BETTER IF I WAS THE ONE PLAYING”. WHAT CHURCHILL IMPLIED WAS THAT TO DO THAT SHE HAS TO BE HIS WIFE,AND TO US IT MEANS LET US BE THE PEOPLE WE THINK WE CAN DO BETTER AS COMPARED TO THEM. SURELY THE QUESTION IS HOW DO I BECOME THAT PERSON, HERS IS HOW.
SIMPLY WAKE UP AND DO WHAT HE WAS DOING AND DO IT AS BETTER AS YOU THINK, BUT BECAREFUL, SOMEONE MIGHT SAY HE/SHE CAN DO BETTER THAN YOU.
